OFICINA DE LETTERING: UM RESGATE ESTÉTICO PELO DESENHO PERSONALIZADO DAS PALAVRAS

Abstract

The present work seeks to bring reflection through a lettering workshop as a visual language and product of this research, aligned with a debate about the course of the Latin writing culture influenced by the aesthetic heritage left by the inscription contained in Trajan's column, in Rome, as well as other forms used throughout history. At the same time, this work intends to reflect on the political influence and graphic symbols in writing systems, in parallel with the calligraphic strokes and letter designs that are directly linked to social and aesthetic culture, which influence and are influenced, even by their pronunciations, throughout history and the emergence of writing. The proposal has two experience reports that made it possible to put into practice part of the schedule foreseen in the Educational Product Proposal written for this research. In this dissertation, there are also some historically relevant aspects regarding the development of alphabetic systems.

O presente trabalho busca trazer a reflexão por meio de uma oficina de lettering como linguagem visual e produto desta pesquisa, alinhada a um debate sobre o decorrer da cultura da escrita latina influenciada pela herança estética deixada pela inscrição contida na coluna de Trajano, em Roma, bem como outras formas usadas ao longo da história. Ao mesmo tempo, refletir sobre a influência política e dos símbolos gráficos nos sistemas de escrita, fazendo um paralelo com os traços caligráficos e desenhos das letras que estão diretamente ligados à cultura social e estética, que influenciam e são influenciados, inclusive, pelas suas pronúncias ao longo da história e do surgimento da escrita. A proposta conta com dois relatos de experiência que permitiu colocar em prática parte do cronograma previsto na Proposta de Produto Educacional, escrita para a presente pesquisa. Nesta dissertação encontram-se também alguns aspectos relevantes historicamente no que diz respeito ao desenvolvimento de sistemas alfabéticos.
