NARRATIVAS DE INTELECTUAIS NEGRAS/OS E LETRAMENTO RACIAL – A ATUAÇÃO DO NÚCLEO DE ESTUDOS AFRO-BRASILEIROS E INDÍGENAS DO COLÉGIO PEDRO II

Abstract

The main goal of this research is to analyze, interfacing Language Studies and the field of Race and Ethnicity Studies, narratives about racial literacy practices (FERREIRA, 2015b; MOSLEY, 2010) promoted by the Núcleo de Estudos Afro-Brasileiros e Indígenas (Center for Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies - NEABI) of the Colégio Pedro II (CPII) in its multiple fronts. This research considers the centrality of black intellectuals working at the NEABI/CPII in the development of politically engaged knowledge, and in the formation of the community inside and outside the school for a race and ethnic relations re-education. Therefore it begins with the narratives of those intellectuals committed to an anti-racist education, who actively participated in the process of creating the NEABI, in 2013, and who played a leading role creating its various fronts, oriented by Laws nº 10.639/03 e 11.645/08 in that institution. From a black decolonial perspective (GOMES, 2020), I present four distinct, but deeply intertwined paths followed by the NEABI: the political-institutional, the political-epistemological, the political-identity, and the political-pedagogical paths. Looking at these paths, individually, and at the dialogue that takes place at their crossroads, allows a deeper analysis of the thoughts and practices of this group.

O objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar, na interface entre os Estudos da Linguagem e o campo das Relações Étnico-raciais, narrativas sobre práticas de letramento racial (FERREIRA, 2015b; MOSLEY, 2010) promovidas pelo Núcleo de Estudos AfroBrasileiros e Indígenas do Colégio Pedro II (NEABI/CPII) em suas múltiplas frentes de atuação. Por considerar a centralidade dos intelectuais negros atuantes no NEABI/CPII na produção de conhecimentos politicamente posicionados e na formação da comunidade interna e externa à escola para a reeducação das relações étnico-raciais, esta pesquisa parte das narrativas desses intelectuais comprometidos com a educação antirracista, que participaram ativamente do processo de criação do Núcleo, em 2013, e que tiveram protagonismo na criação de suas diversas frentes de atuação orientadas sob a ótica das Leis nº 10.639/03 e 11.645/08 na referida instituição. A partir de uma perspectiva negra decolonial (GOMES, 2020), apresento quatro caminhos – distintos, porém profundamente imbricados – trilhados cotidianamente pelo Núcleo: o políticoinstitucional, o político-epistemológico, o político-identitário e o político-pedagógico. Olhar para essas trilhas, individualmente, e para o diálogo que se estabelece nas encruzilhadas possibilita uma análise mais profunda dos pensares e fazeres desse grupo.
