UM CORPO NO MUNDO: LUGARES, MEMÓRIAS AFRO-DIASPÓRICAS E TRAJETÓRIA SOCIOESPACIAL DE CLEMENTINA DE JESUS

Abstract

The present work intends to analyze the socio-spatial trajectory of the singer Clementina de Jesus, also known as Quelé, and all the mobility resulting from the displacement process of a black woman throughout the 20th century. Ethnic-racial issues that were so present in his life and artistic work, such as corporeity and ancestral memory. The singer was a musical and artistic representative of our African heritage and forged representative elements of the diaspora such as resistance, religiosity, identity and cultural re-signification in the black population of Brazil. Some points in this research are in line with reconstructing the places that permeate Clementina’s trajectory through the narrative frameworks present in documentaries and audiovisual records that portray her life, through clippings of interviews given by her, family and friends. For the methodological basis, the choice of an anti-racist and anti-colonial proposal that enables the thinking and feeling of the black subject, such as Geoografias Negras, which aims to epistemologically understand the blackened trajectory of the singer Clementina de Jesus. According to the African thinker Hampâté Bâ, we can consider Clementina as a “living tradition” clothed with dense culturality and black ancestry.

O presente trabalho pretende analisar a trajetória socioespacial da cantora Clementina de Jesus, também conhecida como Quelé, e toda mobilidade decorrente do processo de deslocamento de uma mulher negra ao longo do século XX. Para tal, são feitos diálogos com os conceitos de lugar e as questões étnicoraciais que foram tão presentes em sua vida e obra artística, como, a corporeidade e a memória ancestral. A cantora foi uma representante musical e artística de nossas heranças africanas e que forjou elementos representantes da diáspora, como resistência, religiosidade, identidade e ressignificação cultural na população negra do Brasil. Alguns pontos nesta pesquisa vão ao encontro de reconstruir os lugares que perpassam pela trajetória de Clementina através dos enquadramentos narrativos presentes em documentários e registros audiovisuais que retratam sua vida, através de recortes de entrevistas concedidas por ela, familiares e amigos. Para o embasamento metodológico a escolha foi por uma proposta antirracista e anticolonial e que possibilite o pensar e o sentir do sujeito negro, como as Geografias Negras que visam compreender epistemologicamente a trajetória enegrecida da cantora Clementina de Jesus.
