FÍSICA MODERNA E CONTEMPORÂNEA NA EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA: UMA ANÁLISE DAS FINALIDADES

Abstract

Among the various criticisms directed at Physics education, whether routinely expressed by students and teachers or through research in the field, many refer to the abstractions inherent in the content and the apparent lack of connection between the content and students' realities. These criticisms are directly related to the curricular choices made for the Physics subject, which are closely tied to the objectives determined for teaching this subject, as pointed out by critical curriculum theories. Research indicates that traditional Physics curricula, up until the beginning of this century, prioritized topics that, at most, extend to the 19th century, giving a secondary role to Modern and Contemporary Physics. Recommendations from more recent documents, such as the PCN and the BNCC of the New High School, attempt to induce changes in this scenario. Thus, this work seeks to investigate more deeply the issues surrounding the curriculum and its importance in decision-making and the educational objectives involved in the introduction of Modern and Contemporary Physics in the official curricular texts that govern high school education in the post-LDB period.

Das várias críticas tecidas ao Ensino de Física, seja rotineiramente, por alunos e professores, seja pela pesquisa na área, muitas se referem a abstrações inerentes aos conteúdos e à aparente falta de ligação dos conteúdos com a realidade dos estudantes. Essas críticas estão diretamente ligadas às escolhas curriculares feitas para a disciplina de Física, que estão intimamente ligadas com as finalidades determinadas para o ensino dessa disciplina, como apontam as teorias críticas de currículo. Pesquisas apontam que os currículos tradicionais de Física, até o começo deste século, priorizaram temas que, no máximo, vão até o Século XIX, dando um papel coadjuvante a Física Moderna e Contemporânea. Recomendações de documentos mais atuais, como os PCN e a BNCC do Novo Ensino Médio, tentam induzir mudanças nesse quadro. Dessa forma, esse trabalho busca investigar de maneira mais profunda as questões que envolvem o currículo e sua importância na tomada de decisões e as finalidades educacionais envolvidas na introdução da Física Moderna e Contemporânea nos textos curriculares oficiais que regem o ensino médio no período pós LDB.
