UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA DE ESTUDOS SOBRE O USO DE NARRATIVAS DIGITAIS E MULTIMODALIDADE NO ENSINO DE CIÊNCIAS DA NATUREZA E MATEMÁTICA

Abstract

The traditional educational method of lectures has limitations, such as the prioritization of memorizing content, which can lead to a superficial understanding of topics with consequent student demotivation. The use of digital information and communication technologies (DIT) can be a way to overcome the limitations of traditional teaching, promoting more complete and meaningful educational development. Research has been carried out to reflect on the contributions of integrated TDIC in the most diverse areas of knowledge, especially in education. However, the scarcity of works that simultaneously investigate digital narratives and multimodality, both in articles and in theses and dissertations, especially in the context of Teaching Natural Sciences and Mathematics – shows us a gap. To fill this gap, this dissertation proposes a systematic review on the use of Digital Narratives and Multimodality using a qualitative-quantitative approach. Journals focused on the Teaching of Natural Sciences and Mathematics classified as Qualis A1 and A2 in the CAPES Teaching area were selected. The search expressions were used in the search fields on each journal page, without year restrictions, resulting in 79 articles. The results show the multimodal artifacts used in teaching and learning, emphasizing not only what they are, but also the dynamic interaction between teachers, students and these resources. Qualitative studies predominate, with particular emphasis on higher education. The study also identifies the main authors who have significantly contributed to advancing the understanding of multimodality and digital storytelling. However, the research highlights the pressing need to investigate both multimodality and digital narratives at all levels of education. This study aims to promote more inclusive pedagogical practices, recognizing that the convergence of these elements can offer significant new perspectives for the teaching of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

O método educacional tradicional de aulas expositivas possui limitações, como a priorização da memorização de conteúdo, podendo levar a uma compreensão superficial dos tópicos com consequência da desmotivação do aluno. O uso das tecnologias digitais de informação e comunicação (TDIC) pode ser uma forma de superar as limitações do ensino tradicional, promovendo um desenvolvimento educacional mais completo e significativo. Pesquisas têm sido realizadas para refletir sobre as contribuições das TDIC integradas às mais diversas áreas do conhecimento, em especial à educação. No entanto, a escassez de trabalhos que investigam simultaneamente as narrativas digitais e a multimodalidade, tanto em artigos quanto em teses e dissertações, especialmente no contexto do ensino das ciências da natureza e da matemática, mostra uma lacuna. Para preencher essa lacuna, esta dissertação propõe uma revisão sistemática sobre o uso de narrativas digitais e multimodalidade, utilizando uma abordagem qualiquantitativa. Foram selecionados periódicos voltados ao ensino de ciências da natureza e da matemática classificados com Qualis A1 e A2, na área de ensino da CAPES. As expressões de busca foram utilizadas nos campos de busca da página de cada periódico, sem restrição de ano, resultando em 79 artigos. Os resultados mostram os artefatos multimodais utilizados no ensino e na aprendizagem, enfatizando não apenas quais são, mas também a interação dinâmica entre professores, alunos e esses recursos. Predominam os estudos qualitativos, com ênfase particular no ensino superior. O estudo também identifica os principais autores que têm contribuído significativamente para o avanço do entendimento sobre multimodalidade e narrativa digital. Contudo, a pesquisa sublinha a necessidade premente de investigar tanto a multimodalidade quanto as narrativas digitais em todos os níveis de ensino. Este estudo visa promover práticas pedagógicas mais inclusivas, reconhecendo que a convergência desses elementos pode oferecer novas perspectivas significativas para o ensino das ciências da natureza e da matemática.
