MOBILIDADE COMO SERVIÇO (MAAS) NA REGIÃO METROPOLITANA DO RIO DE JANEIRO: UM ESTUDO SOBRE PERCEPÇÕES E INTENÇÃO DE USO POR POTENCIAIS USUÁRIOS

Abstract

The new possibilities and approaches derived from the evolution and incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT's) in many sectors have changed the form of interaction between users and services. One of the new emerging approaches in the urban mobility sector is the concept of Mobility as a Service (MaaS). MaaS is an innovative transportation concept that combines a variety of transportation modes and services to provide a user-oriented service through a single interface, through a smartphone application. Although recent, the MaaS has attracted more and more interest within and outside the transport sector, with initiatives already in operation or testing in cities in Europe and the United States. This study seeks to identify how residents of a large Brazilian metropolis – the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro (RMRJ) – perceive the MaaS concept and its behavioral intention to use it in the event of an eventual implementation of the concept in the region. To achieve the objective, the research uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), using the Compatibility and Complexity constructs as external variables to identify the Behavioral Intention to Use of a service such as MaaS. The results suggest that residents of the RMRJ would have the intention to use the service, considering the service compatible with their lifestyle. The study also demonstrates interest in the concept from different profiles of respondents, including private car owners.

As novas possibilidades e abordagens derivadas da evolução e incorporação das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC’s) em muitos setores tem mudado a forma de interação entre usuários e serviços. Uma das novas abordagens emergentes no setor da mobilidade urbana é o conceito da Mobilidade como Serviço (Mobility as a Service - MaaS). O MaaS é um conceito de transporte inovador que combina uma variedade de modos e serviços de transporte para fornecer um serviço orientado ao usuário por meio de uma única interface, em um aplicativo de smartphone. Ainda que recente, o MaaS tem atraído cada vez mais interesse dentro e fora do setor de transporte, com iniciativas já em operação ou em testes em cidades da Europa e Estados Unidos. Este estudo busca identificar como os residentes de uma grande metrópole brasileira – a Região Metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro (RMRJ)–percebem o conceito MaaS e sua intenção comportamental de uso no caso de uma eventual implantação do conceitona região. Para alcançar o objetivo, a pesquisa utiliza a Modelagem por Equações Estruturais (SEM) e o Modelo de Aceitação de Tecnologia (TAM), utilizando dos construtos Compatibilidade e Complexidadecomo variáveis externas para identificar a Intenção Comportamental de Uso de um serviço como o MaaS.Os resultados sugerem que os residentes da RMRJ teriam a intenção de utilizar o serviço, considerando o serviço compatível com seu estilo de vida. O estudo também demonstra interesse no conceito por parte de diferentes perfis de respondentes, incluindo proprietários de automóvel particular.
