PERSPECTIVAS SOBRE O PROCESSO DE ESCOLARIZAÇÃO DE ALUNOS IMIGRANTES E REFUGIADOS NAS ESCOLAS MUNICIPAIS DO COMPLEXO DA MARÉ/RJ

Abstract

Studies on migratory flows have been urgent in the face of repeated cases of xenophobia and racism that directly impact social relations today. The significant presence of immigrants and refugees of African origin in Rio's favelas is a reality, especially Complexo da Maré - RJ, where a significant number of individuals with this profile have grown in recent years. This scenario awakens us to reflect on the dynamics of reception and integration in the region, placing emphasis on the school as a space that must guarantee the access and permanence of these groups through practices that value their identity and culture. Considering this, the objective of this work is to understand the experience of black immigrant or refugee people in Rio de Janeiro Municipal Schools located in Complexo da Maré - RJ. This investigation is theoretically based on the concepts of migration (Sayad, 1998), race and racism (Fanon, 2008; Munanga, 2004), identity and culture (Hall, 2001; Munanga, 2013), intercultural education (Candau, 2006 & 2008 ) and territory (Sodré, 2002). The dissertation is structured into three chapters. In the first chapter, we address the categories of immigration and refugee, highlighting the inscription of these concepts in the main literature on the subject. In the second chapter, we expand the debate on territory and school in order to explore the intersections in the construction of the black, immigrant and favela-dwelling individual. In the third chapter, we outline the methodological path that supports the research production and analyze, based on the school narratives of the interviewed group, the main contributions to combating racist and xenophobic practices in the Municipal Schools of Complexo da Maré - RJ.

Os estudos sobre fluxos migratórios têm sido urgentes diante de reiterados casos de xenofobia e racismo que impactam diretamente as relações sociais na atualidade. A presença significativa de imigrantes e refugiados de origem africana nas favelas cariocas é uma realidade, especialmente Complexo da Maré - RJ, onde um número significativo de indivíduos com esse perfil cresceu nos últimos anos. Este cenário nos desperta a reflexão acerca da dinâmica de acolhimento e integração na região, dando ênfase à escola enquanto espaço que deve garantir o acesso e permanência desses grupos através de práticas que valorizem identidade e cultura. Considerando isso, o objetivo deste trabalho é compreender a experiência de pessoas negras imigrantes ou refugiadas nas Escolas Municipais do Rio de Janeiro localizadas no Complexo da Maré - RJ. Esta investigação fundamenta-se teoricamente nos conceitos de migração (Sayad, 1998), raça e racismo (Fanon, 2008; Munanga, 2004), identidade e cultura (Hall, 2001; Munanga, 2013), educação intercultural (Candau, 2006 & 2008) e território (Sodré, 2002). A dissertação está estruturada em três capítulos. No primeiro capítulo, abordamos as categorias imigração e refúgio, destacando a inscrição desses conceitos nas principais literaturas sobre a temática. No segundo capítulo, ampliamos o debate sobre território e escola a fim de explorar os atravessamentos na construção do indivíduo negro, imigrante e favelado. O terceiro capítulo delineamos o percurso metodológico que apoia a produção da pesquisa e analisamos, com base nas narrativas escolares do grupo entrevistado, as principais contribuições para o enfrentamento de práticas racistas e xenofóbicas nas Escolas Municipais do Complexo da Maré - RJ.
