| dc.description.abstract | The global healthcare system has been struggling with exponential increase in demand for its services. On the other hand, investments are stagnant and fail to keep pace with the natural evolution of processes. Thus, in the quest to sustain its system, an ally has proven extremely important: Industry 4.0. The use of disruptive technologies arising from Industry 4.0 aims to improve quality in the healthcare system, making it more efficient, safe, and sustainable across several areas, especially the most critical ones. An example of a sector considered crucial in a healthcare institution is the surgical center, which stands to gain significantly from these technologies. Then, the concepts of healthcare 4.0 and lean healthcare emerge, with a focus on patient well-being and safety. The use of these technologies promises to make healthcare leaner, reducing unnecessary expenses, speeding up processes, and mitigating errors. Given the existing technological resources, digital security is essential across all institutional areas. This study suggests an investigative, qualitative approach, including a literature review based on the journal portal of the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). The objective of this research is to identify focal points where cybersecurity can contribute to a collaborative return on investment for the future of Health 4.0, adding value through lean healthcare, Industry 4.0, and the use of technological innovations in health to form Healthcare 4.0, thereby promoting more sustainable, safe, and effective health. The promotion of a culture of continuous learning is emerging as a trend and has prepared organizations for a dynamic and uncertain future. The use of lean healthcare is directly related to sustainability and involves patient care, increased efficiency and productivity, and waste reduction through a lean mindset. However, several challenges remain, especially resistance to change among those involved and limited investment in resources and infrastructure. By overcoming challenges, organizations benefit from technological innovation arising from Industry 4.0. Continuous improvement must be a priority and made available to employees regularly, in addition to awareness campaigns focused on digital security and data privacy, mapping, and personalizing potential risks. | en |
| pt |
