A RELAÇÃO ENTRE A INDÚSTRIA 4.0 E O TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE: OPORTUNIDADES E DESAFIOS

Abstract

Despite the growing number of researches focused on sustainability and Industry 4.0, few studies have contemplated the relationship between them. Guided by the problem question, “What is the relationship and (or) what is the industry 4.0 application within the sustainability environment?”, This paper is interested in conducting a systematic literature review on the relationship between industry 4.0 and the triple bottom line. Furthermore, by analyzing the results of this research, it is intended to present some opportunities and challenges surrounding this relationship, highlight the gaps and limitations of the research, and suggest future research. Currently, several countries are going through the covid-19 pandemic, an emerging situation that has brought immediate impacts on society, the economy, and the environment. In this pandemic scenario, among various applications and functionalities, the disruptive technologies of industry 4.0, contribute to the actions to combat and mitigate the covid-19 dissemination, in health and help business continuity. Also in this context, among the various technologies of industry 4.0, the artificial intelligence application associated with triple bottom line, for example, can contribute to epidemiology, forecasting of possible diseases and pandemics, and socioeconomic aspects.

Apesar do crescente número de pesquisas voltadas ao tema sustentabilidade e ao tema indústria 4.0, raros são os estudos que contemplam a relação entre eles. Norteado pela questão problema: “Qual a relação e (ou) a aplicação da indústria 4.0 nas dimensões sociais, econômicas e ambientais da sustentabilidade?”, este trabalho tem como propósito realizar uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre a relação entre a indústria 4.0 e o triple bottom line. Além disso, mediante à análise dos resultados deste estudo, pretende-se apresentar algumas oportunidades e desafios que envolvem esta relação, realçar as lacunas e as limitações e sugerir futuras pesquisas. Atualmente, diversos países passam pela pandemia da covid-19, situação emergente que trouxe impactos imediatos sobre a sociedade, a economia e o meio ambiente. Neste cenário pandêmico, entre diversas aplicações e funcionalidades, as tecnologias da indústria 4.0, contribuem com as ações de combate e mitigação da disseminação da covid-19, na saúde e ajudam na continuidade de negócios. Ainda neste contexto, entre as diversas tecnologias da indústria 4.0, a aplicação da inteligência artificial associada ao triple bottom line, por exemplo, pode contribuir com: a epidemiologia, a previsão de possíveis doenças e pandemias, e com os aspectos socioeconômicos.
