The growing world demand for energy has driven research into renewable energy. Although the generation of bioenergy from biomass has grown in recent years and its participation in the Brazilian energy matrix has increased, information on technological innovations for the use of energy potential from biomass is still very limited. In this study, we presented techno-economic analysis of hybrid solar-PV biogas system (HRES) for bioenergy generation from cassava wastewater. Initially, a systematic literature review was conducted through the PRISMA protocol and complemented by studied of bibliometrics indicators using Vosviewer and Openrefine softwares. Both investigations acknowledged possible gaps/scientific/technological opportunities for biomass residues with greater potential for bioenergy generation in a hybrid solar-PV biogas system. From these assessments, an energy balance was developed in order to understand the technical feasibility through the calculation of the HRES overall efficiency. Following, an economic feasibility study was carried out through Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Payback Period. Finally, the techno-economic feasibility was analyzed for two cases: 1) HRES without considering combined heat and power (CHP) and 2) HRES considering CHP and the sale of power surplus. The analysis results demonstrated that energetic valorization of cassava wastewater with volumetric rate of 133,333 l/day, through anaerobic digestion with CO₂ capture by microalgae (Chlorella sp), as well through the generation of bioenergy by a Carterpillar G3520C engine/generator set powered by biogas, have significant potential to provide installed power capacity from HRES of 14 MW, meets the energy demand of 12,98 MW for 40,000.00 habitants, the power surplus was 1,02 MW. The hybridization factor in the HRES was 64% from the biogas subsystem and 36% from the solar-PV subsystem. The overall efficiency of HRES for cases 1 and 2 was, respectively: 18% and 21.76%. The LCOE of the biogas and solar-PV subsystems were, respectively: 0.0553 US$/kWh and 0.0852 US$/kWh. The HRES LCOE for cases 1 and 2, was 0.0446 US$/kWh and 0.0413 US$/kWh, respectively. The NPV for the HRES considering case 1 and 2 was US$ 321.124.21 and US$ 339.174.89, respectively. The IRR for case 1 and case 2, was 35.08% and 49.94%, respectively, both above the 12% TMA. The payback period was 5 years and 6 months for case 1 and 3 years and 8 months for case 2. Case 2 showed greater techno-economic feasibility through CHP and the sale of power surplus (US$ 307,370.88). Therefore, it is suggested that a technological application of HRES in Brazil rural regions considering energy valorization of cassaven
O LCOE do biogás e os subsistemas solar-PV foram, respectivamente: 0,0553 US$ / kWh e 0,0852 US$ / kWh.
