| dc.description.abstract | Technological advances have driven the demand for increasingly smaller, more efficient, and sustainable electronic devices, while the growing use of intermittent energy sources has reinforced the need for energy storage systems with high efficiency, long service life, and high power density. In this context, supercapacitors have emerged as promising devices, showing great potential for applications in electric vehicles, portable electronics, and wearable electronic systems. In this work, bimetallic oxides of NiCo2O4, NiCu2O4, and CuCo2O4 doped with graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) were synthesized and evaluated for application as electrodes in high-performance asymmetric supercapacitors. The materials were obtained by pyrolysis at three different temperatures: 350C, 450C, and 550C. The influence of the synthesis temperature on the structural, morphological, and electrochemical properties of the materials was systematically investigated. Structural and morphological characterizations were carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), confirming the formation of porous nano-architectured structures with homogeneous elemental distribution. The materials synthesized at 350C exhibited predominantly highly porous nanosheet morphologies, which favor ionic accessibility and efficient charge transport. The electrochemical performance was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), using both three-electrode (half-cell) and two-electrode (asymmetric full-cell) configurations. The results revealed predominantly pseudocapacitive behavior for all electrodes, with the materials synthesized at 350C showing superior performance, including higher specific capacitance, lower internal resistance, and more efficient charge-transfer kinetics. Maximum specific capacitance values on the order of 270-290 F g-1 were obtained in half-cell measurements. In asymmetric full-cell configuration, the devices exhibited expanded operating voltage windows of up to 1.8 V, energy densities of up to 16 Wh kg-1, power densities on the order of 400 W kg-1, and excellent cycling stability, with capacitance retention exceeding 94% after 2000 cycles. These results demonstrate that the combination of bimetallic oxides with g-C3N4, together with careful control of the synthesis temperature, represents an efficient strategy for the development of advanced electrodes for supercapacitors, with competitive performance and strong potential for modern energy storage applications. | en |
| pt |
