REFLEXÕES EM TORNO DA PRESENÇA NEGRA NA GESTÃO DE ESPAÇOS CULTURAIS NA CIDADE DO RIO DE JANEIRO

Abstract

This current work aims to investigate the powers that emerge from the presence of black women in management roles in cultural spaces in Rio de Janeiro city. Out of the complexity of the artistic-cultural field, we are going to present how cultural practices still working as propagating instrument of racism and the possible ways to blacken up the management in cultural spaces. This research was built through a racialized perspective in the field of cultural management together with theoretical-analytic basis seizing the structure of this dissertation. Beginning with the approach of the racial authority for production of knowledge (KILOMBA, 2019) where we critically reflect upon the racial relations of power. The myth of racial democracy (NASCIMENTO, 2016; GONZALEZ, 2020) is going to debate the historical and political context of the cultural sector and deal with its outspreads towards the work relations in the culture field. Finally, as we analyze the logic of racism combined with the comprehension of affirmative actions, the concept of reparation (KILOMBA, 2021) is used in the purpose to find collective possibilities to blacken up the ways of cultural management. By means of qualitative approach, four interviews with black women managing cultural spaces located in the outskirts and hegemonic places in Rio de Janeiro city were carried out. With the due authorization of these women, the interviews were recorded and transcript afterwards; the referred contents compose the data analysis and the evaluation of the results based in the experiences and subjectivities (KILOMBA, 2019) of these women. Thus, this research gives us the opportunity to infer about the powers arisen from the presence of black people in cultural spaces, cultural institutions as well as in the processes of cultural management. The presence of black people in leading, decision, and prestige spaces, especially black women, promotes anti-racist and democratic institutional narratives; strengthen the building of black referenced cultural agenda staring black artists as inspiring and positive images for the black community in general.

Este trabalho propõe investigar as potências que emergem a partir da presença de mulheres negras em cargos de gestão em equipamentos culturais na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. A partir da complexidade do campo artístico-cultural, apresentaremos como as práticas culturais ainda funcionam como instrumentos (re)produtores do racismo, de modo que tentaremos elucidar quais seriam os caminhos possíveis para enegrecer a gestão em equipamentos culturais. A pesquisa foi construída através de uma perspectiva racializada no campo da produção cultural junto às bases teórico-analíticas que costuraram a estrutura da dissertação. Iniciando com a abordagem da autoridade racial para produção de conhecimento (KILOMBA, 2019), onde refletimos criticamente as relações raciais de poder. O mito da democracia racial (NASCIMENTO, 2016; GONZALEZ, 2020) irá abordar o contexto histórico e político do setor cultural e tratar seus desdobramentos para as relações de trabalho no campo da cultura. Por fim, ao analisarmos a lógica do racismo, junto à compreensão da atuação das ações afirmativas, o conceito de reparação (KILOMBA, 2019) é trabalhado no intuito de buscarmos possibilidades coletivas para enegrecer os percursos da produção cultural. Por meio de uma abordagem qualitativa, foram realizadas quatro entrevistas com mulheres negras gestoras de equipamentos culturais localizados na periferia e em espaços hegemônicos da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Com as devidas autorizações das gestoras, as entrevistas foram gravadas e posteriormente transcritas, de modo que o referido conteúdo compõe a análise de dados e avaliação dos resultados com base nas experiências e subjetividades (KILOMBA, 2019) das entrevistadas. Assim, a pesquisa nos possibilitou inferir sobre as potencialidades surgidas a partir das presenças negras em espaços de cultura, institucionalidades culturais, bem como nos processos da gestão cultural. A presença negra em espaços de poder, decisão e prestígio, sobretudo a presença de mulheres negras, fomenta narrativas institucionais antirracistas e democráticas, fortalece a construção de pautas culturais afrorreferenciadas, protagonizando artistas negras e negros enquanto imagens positivas e inspiradoras para a comunidade negra em geral.
