A AFRORELIGIOSIDADE NAS NARRATIVAS DE AUDIOVISUAL DO CINEMA NEGRO BRASILEIRO

Abstract

The present study analyzes two films written and directed by black filmmakers - "Rapsódia Para O Homem Negro" and "Senhor De Toda Cruz" -, reflecting both the social context in which the producers of these works are inserted, as well as the current scenario in which the brazilian cinematographic productions are placed in general. With this, the work builds an analysis of the process of formation of cinema in Brazil, especially with regard to Cinema Novo, an important movement that had as one of its main characteristics the approach of social problems. In view of the selected films, this academic work investigates the collective imaginary building created by society around the African origin religions, especially in regards to Candomblé and, given the context, the importance of including black men and women filmmakers who are committed to the possibilities of anti-racist narrative constructions within the brazilian audiovisual.

Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo analisar dois filmes, escritos e dirigidos por cineastas negros, - Rapsódia Para O Homem Negro e O Senhor de toda cruz -, refletindo tanto o contexto social no qual estão inseridos os realizadores dessas obras, bem como o atual cenário em que estão postas as produções cinematográficas brasileiras de forma geral. Com isto, o trabalho constrói uma análise do processo de formação do cinema no Brasil, sobretudo no que diz respeito ao Cinema Novo, movimento importante e que tinha como uma das principais características a abordagem de problemáticas sociais. Diante dos filmes realizados por cineastas negros que selecionamos nesta pesquisa, o trabalho investiga a construção do imaginário criado pela sociedade em torno das religiões de Matriz Africana, principalmente no que diz respeito ao Candomblé e frente ao contexto, a importância da inserção de cineastas negros e negras que sejam comprometidos com as possibilidades de construções narrativas antirracistas no audiovisual brasileiro.
