O ENSINO DE FILOSOFIA NO COLÉGIO MILITAR DO RIO DE JANEIRO SOB A ÓTICA DOS DISCENTES

Abstract

This dissertation seeks to analyze students' perceptions about the role and relevance of the Philosophy discipline at the Military School of Rio de Janeiro (CMRJ). The study explores how students understand Philosophy teaching at the institution, their observations and criticisms about its teaching, its implications for the development of thought and the relationships established between philosophical training and their personal and professional aspirations. To achieve this, it uses qualitative methods, mainly the analysis of questionnaire and focus groups, allowing students to express their views on the importance of the discipline in their academic and social lives. The research reveals that many CMRJ students recognize Philosophy as an essential tool for comprehensive training and understanding the world around them. The dissertation identifies factors such as time for reflection and debates, the methodology adopted and the teachers' teaching as central elements for students' engagement and interest in the subject. Students also report that the study of Philosophy helps to develop a critical vision that goes beyond the school environment, contributing to the construction of a more conscious society. Thus, the work contributes to the understanding of the particularities of teaching Philosophy in a military context and reinforces the importance of a pedagogical approach that balances traditional content with the encouragement of critical reflection, valuing the transformative role of Philosophy in the training of young people.

A presente dissertação busca analisar as percepções dos alunos sobre o papel e a relevância da disciplina de Filosofia no Colégio Militar do Rio de Janeiro (CMRJ). O estudo explora como os discentes compreendem o ensino de Filosofia na instituição, suas observações e críticas acerca do seu ensino, suas implicações para o desenvolvimento do pensamento e as relações estabelecidas entre a formação filosófica e suas aspirações pessoais e profissionais. Para isso, utiliza métodos qualitativos, principalmente a análise de questionário e grupos focais, permitindo que os alunos expressem suas visões sobre a importância da disciplina em suas vidas acadêmicas e sociais. A pesquisa revela que, muitos alunos do CMRJ reconhecem na Filosofia uma ferramenta essencial para a formação integral e para a compreensão do mundo ao seu redor. A dissertação identifica fatores como o tempo para a reflexão e debates, a metodologia adotada e a didática dos professores como elementos centrais para o engajamento e o interesse dos alunos pela disciplina. Os estudantes relatam ainda que o estudo da Filosofia ajuda a desenvolver uma visão crítica que extrapola o ambiente escolar, colaborando para a construção de uma sociedade mais consciente. Assim, o trabalho contribui para o entendimento das particularidades do ensino de Filosofia em um contexto militar e reforça a importância de uma abordagem pedagógica que equilibre os conteúdos tradicionais com o incentivo à reflexão crítica, valorizando o papel transformador da Filosofia na formação dos jovens.
