AS DONAS DOS TABULEIROS: O PROTAGONISMO DAS MULHERES NEGRAS QUITANDEIRAS NOS SABERES E SABORES NA CIDADE DO RIO DE JANEIRO (1860 – 1902)

Abstract

This work intends to walk through the central streets of the city of Rio de Janeiro between the years of 1860 and 1902, in an encounter with the black greengrocers women and their fierce and participatory actions. We intend to circulate through the greengrocers of the fish market and the historic Palace; Going through the narrow alleys of the surroundings occupied with their trays, balancing the farnels that fed the workers, discovering their territorialities inside the zungus houses and in the wisely occupied spaces, such as the streets and squares of the city. Our research, is based on the records, notes and news of the periodicals in this period, sought the protagonisms of black women from their strategies of resistance and persistence in the dynamics of the city, with their constant confrontations and disputes for their territories and rights, as well as how their diasporic knowledge influenced the formation of street food in Rio de Janeiro and constituted the social memory of the city.Este propõe uma caminhada pelas ruas centrais da cidade do Rio de Janeiro entre 1860 e 1902, em um encontro com as mulheres negras quitandeiras e suas atuações aguerridas e participativas. Pretendemos circular pelas quitandas do mercado do peixe e do Paço Imperial; descendo as ruelas estreitas dos arredores ocupadas com seus tabuleiros, equilibrando os farnéis que alimentavam os trabalhadores, descobrindo suas territorialidades dentro das casas zungus e nos espaços sagazmente ocupados, como as ruas e praças da cidade. Nossa pesquisa, assentada nos registros, notas e notícias dos periódicos neste período, a partir da Hemeroteca Digital buscou os protagonismos das mulheres negras a partir das suas estratégias de resistências e persistências nas dinâmicas da cidade. Em diálogos interdisciplinares entre a Geografia Cultural, História e Antropologia, podemos conectar saberes nos entendimentos sobre os enfrentamentos e disputas pelos seus territórios e direitos. Assim a pesquisa permitiu identificar como seus conhecimentos diaspóricos influenciaram na formação da comida de rua carioca e constituíram a memória social da cidade.
